B2B Meetings and
Mediterranean Flavors at Anuga 2025
MESA brought the heart of the Mediterranean to Anuga 2025, one of the most important events in the international agri-food scene. Among the various activities organized by MESA was the B2B meeting: 30 companies from the three Mediterranean islands showcased their traditional and typical products to potential buyers – importers, restaurateurs, gourmet shops, and delicatessens – with the goal of creating new commercial partnerships and promoting sustainable agricultural practices that have characterized these regions for centuries.
The products featured in the B2B meeting were a true expression of Mediterranean identity, all certified as PDO, PGI, organic, or listed among traditional agri-food products.
Sardinia presented a rich and varied basket: typical cheeses such as PDO and organic pecorino and Fresa, traditional olives, pane carasau, typical pasta like fregola, preserved vegetables in oil and vegetable creams, accompanied by myrtle liqueur and bold wines.
Crete enchanted visitors with its cheeses, extra virgin olive oil, and spices, each bite telling the story of the island.
The Balearic Islands brought the essence of their land to the fair: distinctive wines, extra virgin oils, artisan-harvested sea salt, authentic-tasting cheeses, sobrasada, sweets, and other agricultural products.
This event represented a concrete opportunity for the companies involved in the MESA project. Thanks to the B2B meetings and the visibility offered by Anuga, the sustainable products of Crete, Mallorca, and Sardinia may soon be found on the shelves of German supermarkets and specialty stores, accessible to a public that has always been attentive to sustainability and production methods that protect biodiversity and animal welfare.
