Cas Majoral: Formentera's Circular Farm for Sustainable Tourism.

In the Balearic Islands, there are many sustainable projects aimed at preserving tradition, heritage, and tourism within logical and beneficial limits.

One such initiative is Cas Majoral, a model of circular economy in Formentera. Juan Vicente Boned, a tourism entrepreneur, has restored his family estate to source zero-kilometer products for his restaurants while also introducing new crops for future commercialization.

All products are grown using organic farming methods, without chemical additives.
The farm is committed to reducing 100% of the organic waste generated by the Ses Eufabietes, Casbah, and Apartaments Roca Plana hotel complexes and their respective restaurants. This waste is transformed into high-quality compost, which is then used as fertilizer for the estate’s fields — closing the loop of production and reuse
